Jason Lavigne is a new Canadian politician seeking to represent the federal electoral district of Parkland, Alberta, in the House of Commons during the 45th Canadian federal election. Born in northern Manitoba and raised near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he later attended Fort Richmond Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2021, he returned to his prairie roots to establish a family homestead near Breton, Alberta, alongside his wife and two young boys.
Throughout his career, Jason has showcased strong leadership and grassroots team-building skills, especially during his years in the Greater Toronto Area. In 2005, he joined TicketBreak—an alternative to Ticketmaster—as lead software developer and later became CTO, guiding the company through two major acquisitions with MapleCore and TicketFly. He continued championing entrepreneurial growth as Program Director for Silicon Peel, a grassroots startup incubator, where he built partnerships with local businesses, government bodies, and innovators.
These collaborative efforts earned him accolades such as the 2014 Brampton Outstanding Business Achievement Award for Innovation & Technology and the 2020 Innovation Sustainability and Leadership Award during his tenure at the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. In parallel with his entrepreneurial ventures, Jason returned to school in 2016 as a mature student, graduated with honours in law, and successfully passed the Law Society of Upper Canada (now the Law Society of Ontario) Paralegal exam on his 40th birthday. He also holds a PMP certification from McGill University and a private pilot’s license, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and self-reliance.
Long driven by a desire to serve the public and improve Canadians’ lives, Jason launched his first independent campaign for federal office in July 2022 from his homestead. Starting in September 2022, he expanded his advocacy and transparency efforts by becoming an independent journalist, live-streaming daily coverage of the Public Order Emergency Commission—a venture that would evolve into The Lavigne Show.
In November 2024, he announced his candidacy under the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) banner for Parkland, Alberta, building a committed grassroots team united by a common vision of restoring accountability and trust in Parliament. With deep roots in technology, law, entrepreneurship, and community-led initiatives, Jason brings a well-rounded, principled approach to public service, aiming to foster genuine collaboration, champion local voices, and ensure that government once again works for everyday Canadians.
